Seminar Content:

The summer seminar will not only provide an opportunity for the experienced to update their knowledge of electrostatic discharge prevention in the electronics industry using the current standards but will also help newcomers to the subject to gain an understanding of ESD prevention and control practice.

The main theme will be implementing ESD prevention with the forthcoming updated 61340-5-1 standard and how it differs from previous standards. The BS EN 61340-5-1 & 2 standards are well established but the IEC published a new version of 61340-5-1 in August 2007 as a world-wide ESD standard, which is likely to replace the current BS EN61340-5-1 this year.
